  1. Login screen keyboard layout stays QWERTY on systemd distributions (Fedora, RHEL, Arch, openSUSE)

    The greeter of GDM, SDDM or LightDM ignores the layout configured in the desktop session. On localectl-driven distributions the fix is a single command that writes /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf — which Wayland greeters read too, via xkbcommon.
